Bagain Vereshnik

Bagain Vereshnik currently is away from the Kutriguri on a spirit quest. Upon hearing his word, he shall be welcomed back to the Kutriguri.

Vereshnik Harshepsnikov was born during the winter of 790 AD to Karstu and Arashna Harshepsnikov. He grew up in the steppes tending his father's sheep and horses, the wealth of his family. Karstu was slain while raiding a Byzantine encampment before Vereshnik passed the rights of warriorhood. Soon after taking responsibility for the families well being (in 807 AD), Vereshnik was made a Legeny within Zamrach's tribe. Furthermore, he often distinguished himself for both his fighting techniques and his command ability in settling tribal disputes.  After a while,Vereshnik became an officer within the Kutriguri because of his service within many military campaigns that go back as far as 808 AD. During the period of 816-817 AD Vereshnik took his wife from a rival Bulgar tribe which was decimated by Khan Zamrach's warriors. Vereshnik was then given the title of Bagain by Khan Zamrach for fierce and cunning actions against the Magyars in 818-820 AD for one successful campaign after another.  In this way, he was charged as a Boyl to act as the representative of the Kutriguri to other tribes and peoples with Kana Subigi Omurtag's Khanate.

The Harshepsnikov is a wealthy family. The source of this wealth is trading leather, wool, felt, meat, and milk with caravans along the Silk road. When not  fighting dealing with political matters, Vereshnik lives as a simple sheperd.
